| There are several different types of computer bags available, Depending on your requirements they can range from $10 for a sleeve to $400 for a toughened laptop computer travel case.

Sleeves: A basic velcro closure with top zip or slit pocket. Protects the computer from scratches whilst it's inside a briefcase or bag. Doesn't usually come with handle, doesn't protect the laptop from drop or shock damage. |

Saddle Bags/Laptop briefcase: Typically feature a padded laptop enclosure and usually additional pockets, removable accessories holders and possibly skate wheels. They also typically feature different handles to give the user various carrying options and a shoulder strap. Typically available in stiched material or leather, this type of bag usually has mulitple folders. |

Cases: Also known as hardcases, the case offers the best protection for computers and usually have an internal steel frame. In appearance they look the same as a traditional briefcase and can be used as a briefcase as well as laptop case simultaneously. Cases can be airtight, dustproof, watertight, unsinkable, corrosion proof and some models are also crush proof. As with all types of computer bag it's important to check the warranty that comes with it, most branded cases have a lifetime warranty. This type of case can be used to carry laptop or desktop computers over a long distance. |

Backpacks: Similair to the saddle bag but with the convienience of a backpack, the zip in usually located on the near side of the backpack (i.e. is against your back whilst being worn) to prevent someone opening it whilst commuting. Hardened backpacks are also available for use whilst riding a cycle or motorbike. |

Shoulder Bags: Looks the same as a DJ bag, carried by the shoulder strap or handle. The shoulder bag is the computer bag for the more fasion concious consumer numerous designs to choose from. |

Lapbags: Also known as Ladies Cases, similair to the saddle bag or computer briefcase but with styling more accustomed to a ladies bag. The maximum laptop size that can be accomodated in bags such as these is a 15.4" so they are not suitable for larger screens. |

Trolleys: Especially suited to long haul commuting, the trolley gives the same convinience as standard luggage trolleys with long handles and skate wheels. Trolleys usually also have hard frames to protect the computer and incorporate and overnight bag. |
